The industrial washing machine manufacturer Aqua Clean Oy was sold

Pi-Va Invest Oy, a company based in Laihia and part of the Piccolo Group, has acquired Aqua Clean Oy, a Pori-based manufacturer of industrial washing machines.

Aqua Clean Oy is well-known for its high-quality products, with a significant portion of its revenue, over 75%, coming from exports. In 2023, the company had a turnover of €6.5 million and an operating profit of approximately €0.7 million. The company has established a strong foothold in global markets and boasts prestigious clients such as SEW Eurodrive, Rolls Royce Aerospace, ABB, Maersk, Flender, Siemens, and Wärtsilä.

The acquisition brings Aqua Clean Oy’s business and its roughly 30 employees under Pi-Va Invest. Pi-Va Invest Oy’s main owner is Piccolo Group Oy, which is owned by Petri Kuivamäki and Seppo Koskinen, with a minority share held by Vallgrund Invest Oy, chaired by Asko Kamppinen. Petri Kuivamäki, CEO of Piccolo Group, views the acquisition as a historic step towards building a diversified company, highlighting that the deal provides the group with a factory in Pori, where high-quality products are manufactured for international markets by skilled staff.

Frey Taxell, founder and long-time CEO of Aqua Clean Oy, is pleased that his life’s work will continue and sees a bright future for the company. As CEO, Taxell has laid a solid foundation for the company and established a broad global distributor network. He will continue with the company in an advisory role, ensuring a smooth transition of ownership.

Piccolo Group’s strategy is to strengthen its position in the industrial sector, and this acquisition supports the group’s growth. Following the acquisition, the Piccolo Group will employ around 100 people, with a projected turnover of €13.5 million in 2024 and an operating profit of approximately €0.9 million. The group’s facilities are located in Vaasa and Pori.
