Case Konttorikolmio Oy

From pencils and papers to the office's preferred provider

Now that Praecom Group holds the majority share, Konttorikolmio is able to offer customers ICT and remote communication services.

Founded in 1991, Konttorikolmio Oy started out as a traditional office supply company, but even at the time, the entrepreneur knew the importance of service business. Audiovisual technology was also brought to the forefront. In 2008, employees Mika Määttä, Teemu Karsikas and Aki Leinonen bought the company with the vision of providing everything an office might ever need in addition to regular office supplies. Konttorikolmio became Kainuu's and Ylä-Savo's leading provider of presentation technology and printing solutions, where you can also find furniture and even coffee supplies, for both companies and public administration.

Praecom offered to shoulder more in the face of changing work needs

The company was doing well and its customer relationships were enduring. The ambitious owners, however, wanted more. They had long been considering adding ICT services to their selection. Expanding online sales more comprehensively across all of Finland was of interest too. "We wanted to shoulder more and expand our service options. For this, we needed a partner, preferably Finland's best," says CEO Aki Leinonen. "For this, we needed a partner, preferably Finland's best," says CEO Aki Leinonen.

Thanks to the acquisition, Konttorikolmio is able to offer customers IT services and extremely relevant remote communication solutions. The other companies under Praecom Group act as a gateway to the entire country's market, and in turn, Konttorikolmio's services expand Praecom's offerings. Both Teemu Karsikas and Aki Leinonen are staying onboard as significant shareholders of Konttorikolmio.

"A strong nine out of ten" for Suomen Yritysmyynti

"There always needs to be room for improvement," Aki Leinonen comments on the score he gave Suomen Yritysmyynti. According to him, things were done as agreed and on schedule. First the company's strengths for potential customers were evaluated together. The valuation and other practical matters were handled professionally. Leinonen warmly recommends turning to outside help for brokering an acquisition: "There are so many things to consider, and you still need to run the company in the meantime."
